Slim and the Tank is home grown rock and roll from Allston Massachusetts. Bands that grow in Allston tend to take on the characteristics of the area. Its loud rock history, its eclectic inhabitants and its constant supply of creative energy infuse bands with unparalleled sound and vision. This band's songs give you everything you'd expect from a great rock band. Each one draws you in and makes you believe in it as much as the band does. In December, 2005 Slim and the Tank joined together to begin writing and performing the songs that would eventually fuel their debut album, "The Race to Erase Outer Space". The goal was simple, write songs that would use the bands diverse influences and talents to form the basis for both a great rock show and a dynamic record. These songs would be greater than the sum of their parts. Mike Stacchi's tube driven guitars make both big, brash rhythms and creative, lyrical melodies. Michael Nashawaty's hard-hitting drums form a tight, intricate and thoughtful soundscape. Buck Oleson's bass lines fuse warm tones and a classic feel into driving rhythms and soulful leads. Mikey Hennessy has a powerful, husky voice that delivers the lyrics with the conviction they demand. The bond between these four players is creating timeless, compelling rock and roll music.
