简介
Luanne Surace was born and raised in upstate New York. She now makes New York City’s Greenwich Village her home. She studied at New York University School of Law and practiced law in New York. She studied at Greenwich House Music School in classical, opera, jazz and contemporary music. She also studied acting with the late director, Gene Frankel and has performed in a number of professional productions. Luanne's debut album, Undercover Covers, 2008, combined her dark and sultry vocals and techno-organic production to give a unique interpretation of some of the greatest pop rock songs. BLEECKER STREET ROOTS, her powerful second album, is dedicated to American roots music and the songwriters who wrote these beautiful songs. Backed by acoustic guitar and percussion, Luanne's emotionally- charged vocals are a fresh and authentic interpretation of such classic blues and spirituals as Poor Wayfaring Stranger, Operator Blues, Keep Your Eyes on the Prize and Black Cat Blues. She thanks her wonderful Producer, Philip Carroll. She also thanks Adam Tagliamonte for contributing his terrific talent and playing everything from guitar to the jug. Also, thank you to Pat Wictor and Matthew Pierce who played on the album. Luanne is grateful to her friends, family and fellow artists who have been so helpful and supportive. Luanne is devoted to helping emerging singer-songwriters and recording artists through the not-for-profit organization, Recording Artists’ Development, Inc., www.radart.org. She is also a painter, taught and inspired by her late mother whose drawings adorn the cover and liner notes of Undercover Covers. She hopes you enjoy the music!
