SIMEO Let us take this time an introduce you to Simuel Overall aka (Simeo) At an early age family could tell you that Simuel was going to be an entertainer because he loved being in the spotlight. He began singing and dancing at family gatherings at four years old. Often times imitating James Brown. It even followed him into his school years. In his senior year he put on a concert for the whole school performing with a couple of band members of Midnight Star. One winter while visiting relatives in Rochester. NY. Simeo's cousin Teddy got a drum set for Christmas. Simeo seeing his cousin play the drums live, set off a love of music that continues to this day. "I remember asking my mom for a whole year it seemed to buy me a drum set and eventually she gave in" Simeo became very good at playing drums and by the time he was ten he began performing in a professional setting. At one time considered to be the hottest new cat on drums in Detroit. Simeo has performed with The Dramatics, The Spinners(Billy Henderson), Cameo, Cashflow Jazz guitar legend Grant Green, Dr Billy Taylor, Jazz legend Dexter Gordon LJ Reynolds, Commercial with Kool and The Gang for schlitz Malt Liquor featuring the Platters, and many others. NAJE award for best jazz drummer signed by Professor Clark Terry, Alan Dawson Berkley, Joe Jones(Coltrane,Miles Davis Drummer) 1980. While having the opportunity to be produced by Michael Powell producer for Anita Baker and Aretha Franklin, Simeo would learn how to write songs and produce music and what he learned would lead to writing for several chart topping artist such as r&b hall of fame group Cameo. Simeo would also score two top ten hits with Cashflow 1988 with whom he sang and performed on keyboards. Cashflow would also score a big movie sound track with the song Big Money taken from the hottest rap group of the eighties The Fat Boys movie Disorderlies. Today Simeo still enjoys writing songs and recording. He's looking forward to his solo CD release summer 2009.
