简介
Michael Goldman's photograph of an illuminating white light through a National steel guitar somehow manages to ideally depict the title of Adam Falcon's 2015 EP, THE LIGHT SHINES. This is Adam's fourth release for Ghetto Drum Records, his fifth overall including the 2004 KJ Denhert, Adam Falcon release, "The Songwriters Notebook" on Mother Cyclone Records. THE LIGHT SHINES is considered to be the most up to date recording which reflects who Adam Falcon truly is as an artist. Falcon, a past recipient of The Abe Olman Scholarship Award, given by The Songwriters Hall of Fame, continues his knack for writing good songs. Here, displayed on THE LIGHT SHINES, comes the slow blues entitled, "Woke Up Cryin. This composition earned him a spot as a semi-finalist in the 2014 International Songwriting Competition. Discoveries made on THE LIGHT SHINES are reminiscent to that of The Neville Brothers, as heard in the opening track “Soul On Fire.” There’s also a remake of that great Taj Mahal classic “Corrina.” An additional highlight to this recording is guest vocalist, Martha Redbone, who’s name you may recall from her highly successful CD, “The Garden Of Love- Songs of William Blake.” She join’s Keith Anthony Fluitt, adding their vocals to the EP’s title track “The Light Shines.” The overall production was handled by Falcon’s long time producer Trevor Gale and the basic tracks produced by Evan Howard and Nick Diaz who along with Adam Falcon make up "The Falcon Bros.” The moods on this record will take you on a ride from New Orleans to The Caribbean and drop you off somewhere in The Delta with stops along the way. THE LIGHT SHINES!
