Biography- Megan Williams by Peter Langston

You’ll meet few people as authentic as Megan Williams. It springs from her in conversation spliced with laughter and lots of questions. She’s always busy sponge-soaking up life and then dripping it back into the room through music filters shaped by listening to the best of Australia country music. A CMAA student in 2012, her love of the country and passion for people is reflected in songs like “Little Town” and “Kitchen Waltzing”, both providing neat portraits we can understand without fluff and cliché. Megan makes complex allegory appear simple in her songs, reminiscent of others, but still completely unique. Her narratives are strong, her delivery is quirky, her smile genuine and her heart is in every song. You’ll know the stories on her first EP, recorded locally at ENREC, but you will rarely have heard them told this well or with such authenticity.
