简介
This album is a collection of songs written about life experiences. Dance On Old Bones reflects on the aches and pains of getting up each day and dancing on the dance floor of life. In Further On Down the Road you get a brief look into my happy memories of Dad before his sudden death from a massive stroke. Angel Wings was written for Elaine Ann who does the beautiful high harmonies on the CD, to celebrate her graduation from CSU! Mama's Love Song first reflects on my needs for my mother to comfort me the child, I then see the age creep in and realize it now may be my time to comfort my mother. My Companion, My Friend was written during a brief possibility of facing ovarian cancer when I realized that my God and my 'man' are my rock, my safe harbor, my light, my calm, and my companion and my friend. The outside world had caused me great hurt and I retreated to The Music Room and offered the song I Give You My All Today up in prayer. Why, Oh Why is an expression of my thoughts when a cousin committted suicide; Tom semed to have it all and left many of us wondering WHY? One Day is a song I wrote when thinking of an abortion from 36 years ago; the grief is real and needs to be faced. On and On is a song that came from watching my dear friend deal with the struggles the family faced to keep Sierra Linn, a 1 lb 4 oz baby girl, alive. Light of Christ is pretty self explained; May we be the Light of Christ shining in the world. Only Yesterday is fondly referred to as Lauren's song; my sister, Kim, wrote the poem to her daughter for her wedding day, I set it to music and sang it as the family was seated before the wedding. Down Under makes me smile! Fr. DeBiase gave a sermon about his mother doing laundry on the front porch with a wash board, she'd keep scrubbing until they were clean - God is like that with us. He keeps plunging us into the living water to wash our sins away. Keep Me Fed is from 1984; it didn't make it on my first CD. It's as true today, 27 years later! Sing It, Shout It! is a praise song that simmered for years. It finally became complete one day as I read Zephaniah. Yes, our God is a mighty King!
