Will, Greg, Ryan, Nate, Charlie, Nate and Ted make up The Sellouts on this, their freshman record. 2 tenor saxophones, a trombone, bass, drums and 2 guitars were all that was needed to provide the hungry masses for a huge helping of awesome ska/punk/rock. In late 1997, they were picked up the Boston, MA label Fork In Hand Records, which was owned by Big D and the Kids Table, they were all 16 & 17 at the time. Writing songs people of all ages could relate to that still would make fans go crazy, the Sellouts had energy for days. For a local band, these guys hit the ground running and sold their first pressing of Drop in the Bucket (1000 copies) in under 1 month. For a local band just getting noticed, seeing that happen was amazing. They went on to play with other larger bands such as Less Than Jake, Catch 22, Big D And The Kids Table, The Planet Smashers, Mephiskapheles, Spring Heeled Jack, Skavoovie and the Epitones, and were even nominated for a Boston Music Award. The Sellouts may have been a short lived band, with only one other release after this, but they definitely should be heard!
