After smashing onto the scene on Onefold Digital late last year, southern talent ALBT is back with this relentlessly danceable release, Tricks and Trinkets, complete with the skills of K & K on the remix. 'The Music' is the first of two original mixes on the EP from the Brighton producer, an eclectic offering built from heavy duty beats and intricate, jittering rhythms. A massive track with plenty of big room appeal, and the commanding vocal hook, 'always remember the music', is certainly one we can get on board with. Title track 'Tricks and Trinkets' follows, serving up yet more hot and heavy bass. Whirring breakdowns and slices of funk fuelled vocals - the lyrics of which will, once again, hit home with any music heads - make this another killer cut. Rounding off the release is London duo K & K giving us a progressive, beat-driven interpretation of 'Tricks and Trinkets'. The pair show off their skills behind the mixing deck, chopping and looping the vocals until they're no more than percussive additions to the melody, an impressive feat. Definitely an EP to get excited about.
