Dumisani, pronounced as `do-me-sunny’, born in Malawi, a town called Mzimba, in Africa. Grew up partly in the Phillipines where my parents went for further studies. Was introduced to music at a very young age. To the best of my knowledge, i started playing the piano at age of four, learned the basics from my mother and the rest was self taught,, also watched my sis play and listened to some piano music. Begun singing in my teens. Joined a group of talented singers called Royal Naden, while residing in Malawi. Sang in various occasions My music is influenced by church, country, classical, western & traditional music. I grew up listening to artist like Elvis Presley, kings heralds quartet, heritage singers,which my father played most of the times. Piano was my first instrument, played for church services, Malamulo church choir conducted by my father, the favorite choir that sang at the National service of Worship each year in Malawi under the country's leadership of Late Kamuzu Banda. Played for weddings, and other occasions. Also self learned to play the guitar, recorder, accordion, organ & a little bit of violin. I like to listen to all kinds of songs, from pop,rock, rumba, r&b, classical, gospel, jazz, just to name a few. Music has been part of my life since i was a child. Moved to the united states for further studies. Took minor studies in music, which I was not so enthusiastic about. Attended school while making music. Met talented artists like Levi, in south bend Indiana. Played key boards for Jewel’s band in south bend, Indiana. Performed in shows in Chicago & Indiana. Moved to Los Angeles, met more artists, such as Ikkor the `Wolf’, Late Teddy Yamada,, Ron Adams, Maazi! Aubrey4! to name a few.. Won 1st place in song writing contest for gospel music while residing in Malawi. Won 1st place in r&b category in song writing contest by song door in 2007 in usa. Music makes me feel alive! to share my thoughts, my feelings, my energy, in song, it makes me feel joyful. Listen,enjoy! and share my thoughts with you! The songs in the album "can i get with u" was inspired by the experiences i went through at that time. Each song has a story to it. Next album coming up will have new experiences & more on celebrating life -- with a belief that Life Is Good!
