简介

"Sometimes you got to crash-land it...." ('Yea Yea Yea' by SpaceStation). All too familiar with being music-biz road kill, SpaceStation was signed to Tommy Boy before it folded. Then to Ignition Records, which met the same fate. After winning repeated Battle-of-the-Bands radio contests in New Jersey, and receiving the "2001 Modern Rock Album of the Year" award out of 30,000 entries by JPFolks, a national indie songwriter group, Beyond Records offered SpaceStaiton a $250,000.00 record deal. But, of course, that ultimately collapsed due to industry corporate consolidations sending SpaceStation, once again, off course. After given walking papers from Beyond, SpaceStation, a collaboration of singer-songwriter Brennan J. and co-writer and producer Pfilbryte, decided to salvage the wreckage of their previous albums and pursue a new direction: music for television. Since then SpaceStation has been involved with the production of music for such shows as 'the OC' (FOX), 'High School Reunion' (the WB), 'North Shore: Boarding House' (the WB), 'Wildboyz' 'Punk'd' and 'Road Rules' (MTV) and many others. Exposure from this has sparked a swell of song and album sales through the Fusi Pumper Records web site-SpaceStations home-grown indie lable. But the main event for SpaceStation is making records. And, so, the release of the new album entitled "Me and You" (Fusi Pumper Records). With this effort SpaceStation brings an intoxicating blend of top-level songwriting with superior production that can only result from experience and hard work. With an emphasis on song writing and sincerity, SpaceStation is on a path with current projects such as John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Norah Jones leaning heavily on vintage sensibilities in bringing a real heart and soul back to the forefront of mainstream rock. Songs such as "Looking Down from Here" about the likelihood of relationship erosion and "We're in the Groove" about feeling connected to someone ring at once both bitter and delicious about real day to day dilemmas. A team for 6 years, SpaceStation has worked with San Francisco's Dr. Octagon on his gold selling album "Octagynecologyst". Major market radio including KROQ (Los Angeles), Live 105 (San Francisco), and 91x (San Diego) have aired SpaceStation. Videos and music from "Imperfection" (Tommy Boy) are regularly played on MTV and VH1 and they've been featured by Pepsi, Mentos and Levi's on-line. Continuing his dynamic solo performance, Brennan will return to Los Angles hot spots The Joint, The Viper Room, and The Lava Lounge this summer to promote the new album. And already having found a way from outer space into your living room through your TV, Brennan, a Santa Cruz native, will be crash landing the SpaceStation in our own back yard by keeping warm for these LA shows here in Santa Cruz cafes. Watch for the SpaceStation, you may have heard from it already.
