简介
The beauty of a musical album is that more often than not, it captures a snapshot of time during the artists' life. A lot of ordinary people go through a lot of ordinary days to get where-ever they are in life. When circumstances unfold that make the heart beat a bit faster or memories flood more readily, sometimes it's tough to capture & preserve them. Some write in journals, others try to take pictures. Still others let them briefly dance around their head before losing them forever. When the ordinary all gets boiled down, those leftover emotions are the good stuff. "Off We Go" tries to capture some of those feelings in a musical context. I hope that from time to time when listening, folks will be reminded of something in the past that may have escaped them. The album has some pretty neat tidbits of info that go along with it... Track 3 uses paintbrushes instead of drumsticks, track 4 uses a borrowed alto banjo played on Saturday Night Live, track 2 tries to capture the emotions of a high school couple dealing with pregnancy, track 8 was recorded live in the sound booth of the mixing studio on a whim. Each song has a story...just like each person has a story... And so it goes. "Off We Go" was written by ordinary people trying to capture extra-ordinary emotion. It features nine musicians and tries to cram a lot of traveling and personal experience into the confines of a three or four minute melody. Hopefully with a little luck, a few listeners will revisit a past chapter or two in their journey to the here & now...
