Dr.Trudy Pitts August 10,1932 - December 19, 2010 Recorded Her Last Orignal Christmas Song entitled "CHRISTMAS TIME", on Saturday October 25, 2010. Which was also on Her Husband and Lifetime Musical Partner Mr C's 85TH Birthday, at Turtle Studios by Jeff Haitt in Her Hometown of South Philadephia Pa. It features Trudy Pitts on Piano, "Mr. C." on Drums, Her Daughter Anysha Theodora Carney & Son TC III on Lead Vocals. Daughter-In-Law Laura Hall-Carney's Grandchildren Choir comprised of William T Carney IV, Syncere T Carney- Jacobs, Cyndall K Carney-Jacobs and thier Friends; Stephanie Hall, Courtney & Aaron Collins, Cory Matthews, Clayton Jones, & Christian Clay. Although a Classically trained musician who Studied at Philadelphia Music Academy now The University Of The Arts where she taught until her passing, Julliad and the Cutis Institue of Music, Trudy made History as one of the first and most original Jazz Hammond B-3 Organist of Our time. She and Mr. C. lead many B-3 Hammond Organ groups with such luminaries as John Coltrane, Albert "Tootie" Heath, Pat Martino, Wilber Longmire, Grover Washinton Jr, Terrance Blanchard Bob Devoe, Tim Warfield and Greg Osby, just to name a few. She also descoverd Joey DeFrancesco and mentored him thoughout his caeer. Just ask him. She was an Elegant Lady and is respected by Fans and Friends Worldwide. She is also one of the Pioneers of what we now refer to as Acid Jazz. As a Pianist she graced the ivories with exellence. Sounding youthful and altra original. Playing interludes of Chopin to Ellington in a singe phrase which can be heard on Her Self entitled Cd "TRUDY PITTS/ME, MYSELF AND I", prodouced by "Mr. C". One of her greatest musical achievements is her 15 Movement Sacred Jazz Suit entitled "A JOYFUL NOICE", that will be released in the near future. And Her list goes on and on. Just googgle her and enjoy what you read. What a Lady. Chritmas Time was written when she was pregnant with her daughter Anysha back in 1970-1971 or so. The pregnancy also inspired another Original composition entitled "ANYSHA". Which was recorded by Rhasaan Roland Kirk on His "Other Folks Music" CD on Atlantic Records.
