Cat grew up surrounded by music. Whether it was her mom playing bluegrass on the banjo, her dad strumming classic rock on the guitar, her grandfather whittling away at jazz tunes on the ivory keys while her grandmother sang along, or an entire host of singer/instrumentalists forming a family band at reunions, it was impossible for Cat to not fall in love with music. And it was especially impossible for her to not decide, in her teens, to learn to play that instrument her family loved so much-- the guitar. Straightway, Cat began writing her own music, starting with Gone, which you can hear on this album, closely followed by a stream of others that have, over the years, disappeared into the ether. In college, Cat compiled and recorded some of the ones she liked best to create her first album, “One.” Cat Greenfield holds a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance (Classical) from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. She holds numerous awards for both her singing and songwriting, including two from the BMI John Lennon Singer/Songwriter Scholarship Competition as a Virginia first and second place finalist. She has attended courses at CAP21 Professional School for Musical Theatre and Dance. She is currently an actor, model, and musician based out of NYC.
