Glenn Buhr (Genie award-winner and 4-time Juno nominee) is a Canadian composer, singer/songwriter and solo guitarist/pianist. Buhr and his Button Factory Band recently performed a new song cycle with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra under conductor Bramwell Tovey during the VSO’s 2017 New Music Festival. (Music lovers will remember Buhr as front man – along with Tovey – of Winnipeg’s New Music Festival.) The songs and performances are an eclectic and imaginative mix of Buhr's original compositions, lyrical songs, and sound art, though this album has strong blues/roots/country influences, staples for everyone in his hometown of Winnipeg. His solo work is intimate and engaging, and when he’s with his band, the concerts are highly energized, mixing Buhr’s precisely arranged music with pure improvisation.
