Divine Woman is inspired by deep compassion for all the women I keep meeting who could benefit so much from these simple words for the soul. Also, Yogi Bhajan, my spiritual teacher, has been a constant inspiration for me with his teachings for women. My experience with the teachings and reciting these words throughout the years, experiencing their depth and subtlety, inspires me to sing them daily myself. They have been an amazing anchor (asset, help) in my life. It is my prayer that they can help everyone who listens to them in realizing their vast, divine, sacred, noble power within. A little about the making of: So, February of 2015, I had most of the tunes lined up to fire off at the recording studio in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Suddenly, a week or so before heading over to the studio, I realized I wasn't "feeling" most of the tunes. I really, really didn’t want to change things right before the recording, since I was super busy with my year-old baby, and there was almost no time left, but I knew I couldn’t just record something I wouldn’t put my heart into. I prayed for guidance. Fast forward to day-one at the studio…nothing had been figured out yet for those tunes. Luckily, I did have two tunes I felt sure of, so we started recording those. Later that evening, I sat in a relaxed mood and suddenly began hearing a beautiful tune for Adi Shakti in my head. I figured out the chords for it, and we worked on that for most of Day-Two. In the evening again, while walking, another tune randomly danced into my mind… and that gave us something to work with for Day-Three! This continued for the rest of the songs in the next few days. By the end, I was in awe at how everything worked out perfectly. I knew the divine guidance really came through with a little miracle. The whole process flowed beautifully and meditatively.
