简介
Milla Viljamaa is a postmodern storyteller. Applying the harmonium and a host of other instruments, she builds an impressive collection of everyday musical scenes with an underlying unique quality on her debut album “Paras aika päivästä” (Finnish for “The Best Part of the Day”). Released by Aito Records in Finland in May 2008, Milla Viljamaa’s debut is a testimony of the fact that even a relatively young artist (Viljamaa was born in 1980) can boast an impressive personal touch to her creation. The harmonium gives a distinctive flavour to the album, which is filled with miniscule yet significant moments of brilliance that occur to us every day if we pay attention. It can be detecting a small creature running around amongst the 4pm traffic or a great relaxing bath in your very own jacuzzi. What this music gets across is the subjective attachment that is reated to interpreting details of living every single day. On “Paras aika päivästä”, Milla Viljamaa points her listener into direction where basic moments become special. Bringing together acoustic tradition and fresh composition, it is crystal clear that Viljamaa’s music is not basic even on the surface level. This is a unique debut by a very special artist.
