Although the music of “Songs of Plankton” was composed over 10 years ago, it is still surprising in originality of sound and musical ideas. It shows a truly painterly character, but the images that emerge from it are not only in an indeterminate space – they are full of detail and dynamics. There is no boring ambient in it, and the term “progressive” applied to the “Songs of Plankton” is not so much relevant, but necessary, because the songs are developing constantly. It turns out that the uncharacteristic combination of electric guitars with synthesizer sounds can give a very original and fresh effect. This is a concept album and the individual titles fertilize the imagination, while giving specific content to the instrumental form. One may say that "Songs of Plankton" are psychedelic, but it depends on your imagination; for me they are very much so.

Pawel Brzozowski, the author of all the tracks, lives in Poland, and he also plays the recorder on the album (with the exception of the track “The Whirlpool” featuring Jarek Adamów on a wooden flute) . After the release of “Songs of Plankton,” Pawel Brzozowski chose not to issue another work of his, although “Songs of Plankton” was met with very good reviews in the media specializing in alternative music. Excerpts from “Songs of Plankton” have been repeatedly used by video artists to illustrate short films and slideshows. Pawel still composes music, but mostly for non-professional theatrical performances. Now, his main passion is bird-watching, bird photography, and writing Sci-fi stories.
