Cornfed Cadillac has been described as a “bubbling brew of country and folk with a delicious seasoning of bluegrass.” O'Brien! and Friends is made up of outstanding musicians featured on the tracks, include guitarist and vocalist Stash Wyslouch, and drummer Sean Trishka from The STASH! Band,; fiddler and vocalist Patrick M’Gonigle of the Lonely Heartstrings Band, bassist Brittany Karlson and on claw hammer banjo, Allison DeGroot, both of the Good-bye Girls; and John O’Brien, who wrote all the songs, on vocals. Stash Wyslouch also co-arranged and co-produced the album with John O’Brien.

Cornfed Cadillac includes the wild title track, “Cornfed Cadillac”, and the driving “The Same Tree"; a haunting/fun, “Spitfire”; three bluegrass style tracks, “Sacred Valley”, “Fevered Brow”, and “Fat Chance Darlin’”; “Demon Whiskey”, an outlaw, whiskey, hangin’ song; and the unabashed love longs, “‘til We’re Older Than Old”, and “Flora”, among others.

O’Brien says when writing his songs, he draws on his background as a poet and a painter and both real and imagined stories of our shared journey. “I think folks are going to resonate with the themes: true love, heartbreak, loss, redemption, and the resilience of the human spirit”, he said.
