The music on this CD is the result of thirty years of studying jazz, Latin American music, and Americana music. It's also a direct consequence of my association with master pianist and arranger Otmaro Ruiz. He is responsible for all of these arrangements, and wrote the only original tune. Otmaro and I have played together for over thirty years and this is the product of his vision of my playing. Because we are both from Venezuela and grew up playing all kinds of music we decided to include an Afro Cuban tune, a wonderful brazilian song, a James Taylor song, a Cole Porter standard, a Gino Vannelli song and a Venezuelan song. All the songs are dear to my heart and feature some of my favorite singers.
