In winter of 2013, Nifty received some alarming news. His younger sister had been hit by a mysterious illness, and her liver had suddenly begun to fail with terrifying speed. The doctors were baffled as to the cause, but the prognosis was grim - a transplant was ultimately the only thing that could save her life. Time was quickly running out; the young woman was given less than two days to live. After going through a slew of donors, all of whom proved unsuitable, doctors turned to their last remaining option; her brother. Four years older, and his little sister's closest match, Nifty instantly agreed to become a living donor. Despite his lack of hesitation, this was no easy decision. He was father to a 10 year old son, and his wife was at the time, 6 months along with their second child. It had been a fairly complicated pregnancy; at one point she had even been placed on bed rest for their unborn baby's well-being.
