Bethan is the creative offspring of Jessi James and is the result of hard work applied over the past year. Jessi first met producer Roger Greenawalt (Ben Kweller, The Pierces) at SXSW 2010. When traveling to New York City for a week last October the two first began to collaborate on a number of songs, the first of which was the song "Vague." A number of songs were finished that first week, a few more in February, and then the two completed their endeavor this June.

Jessi James first emerged last year after a short stint with the band Novaak. “I loved Vague so much,” she says “that moving forward from Novaak, I thought it would be valuable to continue moving in this direction... a little darker, more minimal approach to music... more room for play. Roger was an extremely challenging person to work with... definitely pushed me as a vocalist and artist.”
