简介
The Condors recorded this six-song collection to capture some of the engaging tunes that fueled their live shows. Songs penned and sung by Pat “Pooch” DiPuccio (Blow-Up) were solidly supported by Pat on guitar, Jay Nowac (Longnecks) on drums, and Mark McCormick (Crawlspace) on bass. The tracks were co-produced by The Condors, Tony Fate (Bellrays), and Steve Refling; recorded and mixed by Steve Refling. Initially released on Vital Gesture Records, these recordings still find their way onto many rockin‘ radio play lists. Here are a couple of reviews of Tales of Drunkenness and Cruelty: “With jumping rhythms and catchy guitar figures running throughout the album, the Condors find a comfortable sense of energy; it's the link between rockabilly, classic R&B, mod and first-wave punk. With a slightly dirty sound, the band cranks out down-home rockers smacking of fun times. Songs like 'Got No Reason,' sparkling with the spice of mod-pop guitar work, or the chicken-pickin' country-rock guitar of 'Drinkin' Myself to Sleep,' offer nothing but good, clean rock'n'roll fun.” - Matt Schild, AVERSION.com “This is the swirling sound of The Byrds if they had been energetically infused with a high-octane dose of snarlin' rock'n'roll belligerence and rabid badboy bite... this is the booty-twistin' sound of hot fun in the summertime sun, of sloppy juvenilistic sex in the backseat of a souped-up turbo-charged '81 Camaro, of wide-eyed youthful innocence soon to be corrupted by mind-altering stomach-churning amounts of the devil's drink and other illicit intoxicants... yes, this is the rambunctiously sparkling sound of vibrantly frenzied life itself! Man, The Condors are sonically cooler than cool.” - Roger Moser, Jr., RAZORCAKE Fanzine
