BIO Shoda Ish are a 3-man group originating from the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. Established in 2008, they have co-organized multiple hip hop events at local venues. Their first EP titled ‘It Starts Here’ was released in 2009. The standout track ‘Lyrical Swords’ (with its accompanying Animated Music Video created by SuckaFish + Samurai Champloo samples) proceeded to go viral on YouTube garnering international attention. ‘It Starts Here’ showcased an extremely jazzy sound with almost all the tracks sampling old jazz vinyls. In January of 2010 Shoda Ish performed live in Shibuya, Japan and jammed with the hip hop group EverGreen in Osaka, which led to the transcontinental bilingual collaboration “International” featured on their album 'FoxP2'. Their second EP titled ‘Double ID’ was released in 2011. It featured a collaboration with Cise Star from the highly-acclaimed group CYNE on the track ‘Simple Man’. Their style deviated slightly on Double ID with multiple songs sampling movie soundtracks which made for a darker sound. Shoda Ish also opened for hip hop artist Eve that year in Surfers Paradise. Their first full-length album ‘FoxP2′ will be released in 2013. The LP features numerous collaborations with vocalists Cise Star, One Be Lo from Binary Star, EverGreen and Raashan Ahmad.
