The songs on I Will Find My Lover By And By interweave to tell a story - part reality, part fiction - of deep love, terrible heartbreak, unshakable hope, and misguided debauchery. After touring the Northeast for two years with the Whiskey Boys, it was time for some rambling. I explored the Cajun culture of Lafayette, Louisiana, the smokey, boozy city of New Orleans, and the live music capitol of Austin, TX. I absorbed all the sights, sounds, and lives I experienced in my travels, and returned to Boston to finish up some songs and put this album together. The sound is a combination of smokey jazz clubs, the Cajun bayou, southern honky-tonks, hot Bluegrass pickin, and lonesome river blues, by way of a 21st-century Jersey boy. The idea of simplicity permeates every aspect of the project, from the stripped-down solo acoustic performances, to the artwork, engineering, packaging, and fan-funding campaign. Nearly every step of the process has been DIY, the work of me and two friends, Monica de Vitry (artwork), and Mike Reese (engineering/mixing/mastering).
