简介
Jan 22nd will see the launch of Aduio, Eakui’s new mini-album from electronic imprint Squarediscs. Tanzanian based Eakui has spent 10 years developing, recording and releasing music – influenced by West African music and the early 90s Sheffield sound – for a collection of UK independent labels, including Benbecula and Machine records, regarded by some as the smaller Scottish and Welsh ’cousins’ of Warp Records. Aduio consists of remixed, re-mastered and unreleased tracks from the last decade, spanning the period of Eakui’s original releases for Worm Interface with MoQ – aired on the John Peel Show – and subsequent outputs on UK-based Squarediscs and Swiss label Everest Records. Mix Gescom, AFX a gameboy and a string quartet in a blender, and Eakui might come out. That’s what we think anyway, but don’t take our word for it, have a listen.
