简介
Christopher T. Huntley, a.k.a. "The Rhapsodist" a.k.a. "Kris Amerikos", was born into an American military family in 1986 in Frankfurt am Mein, Germany. As any child of a military family, he changed locations quite often and, at a young age, had already seen much of the world. Since then, he has lived in various cities in the United States, including: Cincinnati, Ohio, Mililani, Hawaii, Waianae, Hawaii, Newport, Rhode Island, Wheeling, West Virginia, Tampa, Florida, Washington D.C., and more. He has also resided in Sicily in Italy and in Yekaterinburg in Russia. C. T. Huntley started his music career early in his childhood. He taught himself to play guitar and piano, while learning to play saxophone in elementary school. In intermediate school, he composed scores of classical music which were performed by his school band at concerts. In high school, he played in several rock groups, where he performed as a guitarist, bass guitarist, and vocalist. Near the end of his time in high school he found himself in a bad situation and ended up in a juvenile detention center in Rhode Island. It was at this point that he came to the realization that he didn't need an instrument to make music, but that his voice could be used as an instrument, and that songs should be focused, not on musical notes, but on lyrical content. Here he learned to freestyle and to write lyrics in the style of rap and hip-hop. Upon his release, he dove into hip-hop culture and began writing lyrics and performing with other artists. In the Fall of 2004, he entered Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and where he met the freestyle and battle rap artist "Jaze Juce". Jaze Juce guided Kris through the basics of becoming a recording artist and developing song concepts. It was at this point that Chris started creating music under the pseudonym of "The Rhapsodist". Together they recorded many singles and even short albums. Jaze Juce also highly influenced Chris by introducing him to the rap / hip-hop scene in New York City and Yonkers, New York. Between 2004 and 2007, Chris travelled back and forth between Rhode Island, West Virginia, Ohio, and Florida. He continued to develop himself as a recording and performing artist and started projects with local artists everywhere he travelled. During this period of time, he released many tracks with one-time features of locally-known artists. In 2007, Chris moved to Newport, Rhode Island and entered Salve Regina University, where he received a Master's Degree in International Relations. In Newport, he continued to develop as a performing and recording artist and started a group called "The Green Team". This group produced several mixtapes and performed regularly throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. At the same time, he continued working with local artists in Tampa, Florida and started a second group called "Green Team 813". In 2009, Chris moved to Russia, where he took on the pseudonym "Kris Amerikos". From 2009 through 2015, he continued making singles, albums, mixtapes, and featured tracks with local artists and built a following in Russia. His most renowned work from this period of time was called "Cypher", which was an effort to bring many artists together to record a track, shoot a video, and organize a performance. The project included three music videos in Yekaterinburg, Russia and one in Moscow, Russia. By involving artists from different parts of the local community and with different musical styles and tastes, he was able to make a name for himself throughout Russia. In 2015, Kris Amerikos went commercial, as the demand for his music continued to increase. His music is now available for sale on various Internet sites, such as iTunes, Amazon Music, and others.
