Est. 1996 Meta-4 is officially back! Late 90's Early 2000 era a group called Meta-4 (Side-note:Which Consisted of four members, Hence the number 4) Flooded the underground scene took over mp3.com and created a new strain of Hip-Hop MC. We now like to call it Netcee a hybrid word from interNet and Mc. The Netcee stood for a rebellious cause. We basically changed the way people listen to music. Napster was in full effect and people wanted to listen Hip-Hop the way they wanted and not what some label or A&R recommended. Meta-4 controlled the top of the Hip-Hop Charts on Mp3.com in 1999 selling albums and generating fans across the world. After the collapse of Napster MP3.com began to get regulated and independent artist lost the battle. We were no longer able to sell our music and shortly after we were removed from the site. Meta-4 went on for a while but the outlet to reach viewers wasn't as potent. Egos grew, Tempers flared and the group chose to part. Two members of the group On-Point and Starkastik kept the battery alive as they went on to do music for years but chose not to release anything. Years later Hip-Hop suffered a change where the newer generations did the Hip-Hop fad thing and not from the heart. On-Point and Starkastik felt the need the bring the name back added two new members by the names of Extra Ammo and Legacy.The two came from the same town as the original group. They both set trails of their own before becoming part of Meta-4. Hip-Hop now is who can sound the best while pretending. We're here to bring the feeling back.
