Tyne Darling splits time between Brooklyn, NY and Milwaukee, WI, considering each home. In 1998, Tyne was involved in forming the St. Louis Americana band, Hart Crane. Wearing their alt.country influences firmly and visibly upon their collective sleeves, Hart Crane toured and recorded, (then broke-up) pushing Del Lords-style twang in the vane of Uncle Tupelo and Drag the River. After a swift relocation, he formed Moonshine Sway, a four-piece band that found similarities with both The Bottlerockets and Whiskeytown. Moonshine Sway, after a handful of recordings and a countless number of shows, evolved into the full-band incarnation of Tyne Darling. In 2010, the band released 'The Secret November', a full-length, effort that was produced by Eric ‘Roscoe’ Ambel (Steve Earle, Ryan Adams, Kasey Anderson) and mastered by Paul Gold (Salt Mastering, Brooklyn, NY). Tyne Darling tours as a solo performer and with a full-band and has played festivals like SXSW, CMJ and Wakarusa, while having performed throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. The music, which has been licensed through Tinderbox Music (Minneapolis, MN) to networks such as MTV, VH1, E!, Discovery, and Bravo, revolves around steeped, metaphoric lyrics and subtle hooks that owe as much to Raymond Carver as they do to Greg Dulli. Tyne Darling's Americana-minded tunes call to mind strains of Bruce Springsteen and are reminiscent of both The Weakerthans and Matthew Ryan. Tyne Darling has shared stages with Drag the River, Lucero, Two Cow Garage, Charlie Mars, Richard Buckner, and Slobberbone, among others.
