Bambú Station is a Roots Rockas reggae band from the Virgin Islands. Founded by lead singer and producer Jalani Horton, Bambú Station has gathered a loyal fan base around the world for their critical lyrics and refreshing approach to the roots music. Through many reviews and hundreds of shows, the band has weathered the test of time and trends to remain solidly based in their roots, their musical identity, their commitment to community and their stance as one of the world's most profound bands. Bambú Station has produced its own classic works and has also produced Various Artists compilations and solo artists alike. The "Talkin' Roots" volumes are timeless and works by Black Culture, Ras Iba and Ickarus stand as testaments to the quality of work they have produced for other artists. The Bambú Station Foundation is also working hard in the community and remains the focus of the band's current activities. Challenging promoters to put the band in a position to impact communities beyond the stage has been an annual challenge, so the band has rooted itself in their homeland of the Virgin Islands and have centered their music around building programs to impact the youth. Forthcoming releases include Jalani producing works for the master guitarist and priest of the Melchizedek Order, Haile Israel's "371" (roots album) and "A Griot's Journey" (groove album). Jalani has also produced several tracks with world music artist Tanama Colibri, an album with spoken word legend Heru Ofori-Atta, soundtracks for the feature movie "Timeless" by Ed LaBorde, Jr., and an album with rising female phenom Boom Sess along with other up and coming artists. The new studio, Griotlife, pronounced (Gree-oH), which is based in St. Thomas, VI, has turned into an oasis for the storytellers, the griots of today.
