简介
Hailing from Montreal, Canada Nitro/Noise is the next onslaught in the Dark EBM scene. Founded in early 2010 by the ex-Detroit Diesel member Clutch together with Kold and Efferus. The album cover witness of lots of destruction. The ground zero after the World Trade Center attacks in New York over ten years ago. And in a way that match the music pretty well. With “Killer Fuelled Machine” Nitro/Noise kicks off with a raging assault. Heavy distorted rhythms and dark beats mixed with Harsh machines and industrial elements. Lots of elements from similar bands like named Detroit Diesel or Cygnosic is present but Nitronoise is more aggressive and darker. But even if the sound is very much about heavy Industrial and beats you will witness lots of melodic soundscapes in the music and that is a strong combination. The powerful “Built For War” or “X” will probably be kicking dancefloors a lot, but even slower darker tracks like the amazing “Genesis” with some cool orchestral elements give away the feeling that it’s not only meant for the dancefloor. Spin it like crazy while driving your car, but be careful, I don’t take blame if you get caught speeding. Kold deliver dark and harsh vocals to a style of its own in the genre to the infectious killer beats. The growling is more used in the Metal scene and by this date nothing I have witnessed or stumbled upon in this genre before, something the second track “Synchronised Beat F**k” pretty much show with its heavy Industrial guitar riffs that seems to be fueled directly from Hell. The mix of that with the dark and energetic beats works pretty well together and the typical Canadian sound make its way through the tracklist. Even though its lots of beats and twisted electronic soundscapes the music got a very melodic approach in most of the tracks, meaning that you don’t just get another dance-your-ass-of-only-at-the-clubs album, but works pretty much everywhere you go. The ending track (before the remixes take over) is the beautifully composed “Warcry”. It has this mid-tempo approach with a driving punch in the bass and very amazing and intensive soundscapes. Even though the guitar is frequently used in almost every track it never is the main instrument. However, it’s not for the background either. But the blend together with lots of orchestration really make a powerful combination. “Total Nihilism” mix TBM with Harsh Electro and Industrial elements and the guys really deliver a strong debut.
