Flip
简介
One very special musician the Igloo has been nurturing since the early days of the label is fellow argentinean artist Leando Pugliese aka Lega, also known as Plastique Vision, Hawaii, The Sonambulist, Martin Fissher and Weltschmerz, who at the tender age of 12, began to program his own applications. Today, the whizkid runs his music & video production company (tv, films, motion graphics, 3d, 2d, vfx, etc) called Wanka TV and -- as Lega -- has managed to clock up an impressive list of releases on labels as renowned as Intrinsic Design, Immigrant, Off Side, SCSI-AV, Miniscule, and Dual Musik as well as releasing countless other tracks and remixes under his other guises. His new album, aptly called Flip, will definitely place him at the forefront of things, not only due to the experimental but also to the utterly pleasant nature of its twelve songs and seven remixes: very intrinsic and complex, the fine and musical, dreamlike sound structure of the tracks, most of them crowned by the celestial voice of singer Julie Amadeo, is bound to make an impact on the subconscious of any discerned listener. To make his work even more complete, a lot of label-affiliated artists -- Elephant Pixel, IMI, Mekas & Pablo Denegri, Sebastian Cohen, and Fase, Julie Amadeo and Lega -- have come on board as remixers. Those befriended artists are more than just reinterpreting the originals; every single one of them seems to have their own take on Lega’s style without ever crossing the fine line of tampering with his sound: they manage to add to his masterpiece by adding their respective ‘vibe’ in such a delicate and respectful way it makes the soul shine. Nevertheless, Flip, as the name suggests, can be divided into two parts, due to its conceptual inception -- the long player flips like the two faces of a coin, with originals and remixes flowing effortless into each other.
