Bel-Ami's debut EP, “Know U” is a love letter in these all about the "Mo Betta" times. The title track for example enchants with the chorus “my delicate flower, I just want to get to know you...” Bel-Ami isn’t simply inviting some P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thang) into his world, but this entire work is an invite to the listener to take part and experience this sonic, soul soup he’s been cooking up in the studio with some of Houston’s best and brightest musicians. “Plead” stands out once again for it’s vulnerability and sincerity. He promises to his delicate subject to “wipe your tears away, make the smile return to your face.” Where else can one hear that perspective from a male singer these days? It is clear that Bel-Ami is intent on continuing and expanding within the legacy of such romantic and conscious crooners as Marvin Gaye or more recently, Eric Roberson. “Know U - EP” is a serenade in times when people don’t often just stop to hear the music.
