In early 2008, PYRX was nominated for, and won the "Best New/Underground Artist of the Year for 2008" from HIGHTIMES Magazine. They accepted their achievement, along with a gold-fumed Doobie Award, at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference in Austin, Texas. Immediately after receiving this award, PYRX toured constantly across the U.S. and Canada, to find themselves ending out the year on a West Coast tour with Reggae legend Anthony B. PYRX shifted gears and unleashed their sound on ”The West Coast Hustle Tour” in April 2009. This tour came fully equipped with one of Reggae’s newest rising stars, COLLIE BUDDZ and the NEW KINGSTON BAND. Also, with one of Hip-Hop's old-schoolers, PEP LOVE from the group HIEROGLYPHICS. On this tour, PYRX played to fully packed crowds at some of the most legendary venues from San Diego to Seattle.
