Dance of the Samba night is an example of where Frixos takes ethnic rhythms to create a jazz form. Here, the Bossa Nova and Samba grooves are combined in his composition. He explains, "For as long as I can remember, Brazilian music has been in my life. It all started with listening to Stan Getz and João Gilberto together with Antonio Carlos Jobim and Astrud Gilbero’s unique voice".
