He appeared in the Las Vegas production of "Mame" starring Juliet Prowse, and was seen in the role of Alberto in the pre-Broadway tour of "W.C." It was in that production of "W.C. that he first teamed up with fellow cast member Gary to form the singing duo of "Gary Oakes and Lou Garcia." Their first engagement was at the famous New York City's Rat Fink Room as the opening act for the late comic Jackie Cannon. They then were called to Las Vegas where they were featured in the MGM Grand Hotel spectacular, "Hallelujah Hollywood." They subsequently per- performed in many of the Las Vegas lounge venues, and for many years were a featured act aboard the ships of many of the leading cruise ship lines. Currently, they can be seen periodically performing in concert venues in Las Vegas, singing pop standards and Broadway show tunes in their unique vocal duo sound.
