I have a fascination for and love to work with sound and music. I sing, chant, play drums and other percussive. The music is in me and always has been. I see it as a gift from the universe that I have to share with the world. I have been pushed to do this for a long time, from inside and outside. I have the rhythm in my body. I can express it through dancing, drumming and the way I play guitar and sing. I like to play with rhythms and also melodies and sounds. I can express all those things with my voice. I can sing in different ways and styles. I can sing pretty high, and I am very comfortable singing with a low pitch. I can make many different and quite strange sounds with my voice. I believe my voice has the ability to help and heal people in different ways, and many people have told me the same thing. I think it is part of my life purpose to use it in this way. Currently my main focus is on that kind of music, what I like to call shamanic music. You could perhaps call it world music, ethnic music or indigenous music. I'm not trying to copy anyone or anything, but it's inspired by shamans I have attended ceremonious with as well as music from various indigenous people around the world. My way of doing it now is very basic, raw, simple. Just my voice as well as a drum and/or rattle. It's very instinctive and intuitive. I feel that I am channelling the music from somewhere; another dimension, the universe, my higher self, the source? The music started to come through me during some of my first shamanic ceremonies. I got really fascinated by the shaman's way of singing. In the beginning I was perhaps singing the same thing as him or slight variations of his melodies. Then I would develop my own or just let through whatever wanted to express itself through me. That's the way it has always felt. It comes automatically.
