1986 was no regular year for rap music, run DMC was at the top of the charts and hip-hop began its reign, breaking into mainstream culture at a lightning pace. Meanwhile, somewhere in a Toronto hospital a musical mind was being born. The artist known as Teknikkz was born & raised in the west end of North Americas 5th largest city, (Toronto, Canada) Teknikkz was always an avid music lover, from the smooth soulful sounds of R&B to the guitar solos of rock & roll. As a child he would write his own lyrics and poems as a pass time. In 2001 Teknikkz started on his road to the top of the music industry, fueled with pain and passion he began recording. That same year he also met a person who would change his life forever, Rapper/Producer Cap N1ne. N1ne began teaching Teknikkz and showing him how they could together make a serious run in the music business with raw talent as a selling point. In 2004 the duo released a mixtape titled "Streets never sleep" with a track listing of 40 songs. The following year Teknikkz released a mixtape titled "Global Warming" and the very first real footprint in music scene, "Somethin' From Nothin' " the album. "I Make Em Sick" & "Beast Vol.1" than followed the year after. Teknikkz has been featured on various compilations and albums nation wide and even 3 videos under his belt. Something that started out as a dream or a fantasy, is now becoming a reality, despite the doubt and cold shoulders of the sceptics. To date Teknikkz has released 18 free mixtapes and 2 albums available for sale. Teknikkz lyrics and delivery are like none other to date, he can make you feel emotions as if you are experiencing them first hand. From smooth love songs to cold gritty head bangers, Teknikkz does it all priding himself in his versatility. With long roads behind him and many more to travel, Teknikkz will continue doing what he loves, with or without somebody listening.
