Zion TPL (The Promised Land), was originally formed as a reggae band in 1996 in the small city of Maracay, Venezuela, where little was known about this musical genre. The founding members took the initiative to spread a positive message through reggae music and create a social conscience in the World. Influenced by world renowned artists such as Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, Aswad, Burning Spear, to name a few, they developed lyrics focused on environmental conservation, discrimination, abuse of power, animal welfare, and the power of love as a human race. Their first album “El Genesis” was recorded in 2002-2003 featuring hit songs such as “Guayabo Song” and “Believing in Zion” which took them to the local popularity. In 2007-2008 through hard work and dedication, they immersed themselves into the creation of their second album an most recent “Gracias Jah”, which proved to take an elevate their artistic potential to a higher level. Throughout their journey they have had the opportunity to share the stage with great performers of the genre like Michael Rose, Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, Mystic Revealers, Skatelites, Ska P, Junior Kelly, Raices y Cultura, Morodo, Dr Chando, Kafu Banton among others. In the summer of 2005 and 2009 they launched their international efforts touring Europe to promote their respective albums. From the overwhelming response, they are propelled to work intensively on their international exposure and always looking forward to expand their frontiers and maintaining that the journey is the reward.
