简介

When Worlds Collide is the first solo album by Uncle Sal, and it is an intro into the musical mind of "The Guitar Jedi". All of the music, except where noted, is created by Uncle Sal, and all of the instruments you hear, while they sound like other instruments, are all from his Guitar Synth. This is a "guitar music" album, and for other Guitar Jedi's to enjoy. These are the liner notes to the album, and the dates the songs were written. 1. When World’s Collide (2003-2004) “A man meets a woman for the very first time, and its love at first sight.” How different we are from one another, but our worlds still meet in a mad love affair. 2. The Words Are The Name of the Song (2005) Or “The Name of This Song is the Words.” Iraq is considered Babylon in ancient times, and if you listen to the words I say “Something is going down in Babylon.” I used my guitar pickup as a microphone and screamed into it, “Gadzooks, mamalukes, it’s all going down in Babylon.” 3. Gemini Sky (2005) “You Live, You Die, You Travel To The Moon.” Every 25,000 years civilization is destroyed. The aliens flip the axis of the Earth to try the grand Matrix experiment one more time. What are they really getting out of it? 4. Not Enough Bop (2006) The song makes you feel happy at first, until you’ve realized you traveled to the phantom of the opera’s cathedral and he’s playing the creepy pipe organ. 5. Sweet Sensimilia (2006) Every Band I’ve been in there’s always someone who does. It’s been 27 yrs. I don’t. Oh yes, I have tried it. I did inhale, but it’s just not for me, no thanks. 6. Roll Back Time (2000) I never came up with words that could quite fill the song, but I did come with the chorus. “It’s hard to roll back time.” Hence the name of the tune. I added the guitar line to speak the words. 7. Its All About To Change (‘99-‘00) My good friend and band-mate Chris OBrien came down from Chi-Town. Wrote the words in about 1 hour and sang on the same day. 8. Cool Cowboy Dirty The song reminds me of a modern western movie music opening scene of cowboys on the open range driving steers. But then there’s my guitar? Should we have naked chicks riding the cows? Or the cowboys. 9. Don’t Close Your Eyes And Turn Away (1998-99) Next door neighbor Roy came over in one of his religious states of mind. He must’ve gone to church that week. I was playing, jamming. He joined in and started singing. I said, “Pretty cool, let’s record your vocals.” . 10.Faster (2006) I thought to myself, get a beat on the drum machine, and every measure or so speed it up a notch, just for shits and giggles. Then just rip and load. I did the solo pretty much in one take. 11. Hell Star (2000). No words until 2006. This song is about someone who went down the wrong path and ends up in hell. But is there any hope? 12. Ozone Baby (1999) I think I was listening to some Jedi master Steve Vai music that week. I think I just bought his Fire Garden disc. I was playing a Jem when I recorded. I had to get the Vai experience happening. 13. Look Away (2005) It started off as a sad mystical song of a futuristic dream, but I added some lead guitar and made it a nightmare. 14. The Red Pill I tried to duplicate Neo’s feeling when he touched the mirror at the beginning of this tune and end. No ripping leads this time. Just groove and relax. 15. Leave Dead Dogs Lie (2006) Sometimes you can’t change the past. Only the future you may change. Sometimes you can learn from the past. Leave dead dogs lie. 16. Olympus Mons (1998) In the Cydonia region of Mars there are pyramids. And on one of the pyramids to the right is a face. 17. Down by the Waterfall (1998-99) Roy was not in so much of a religious word that day. He wrote the words about some hot chick that he wanted to go bang bang bang a few times. Needless to say, I put a bombastic Jimi Hendrix rhythm with a Steve Vai lead to it. Thanks for your inspiration Steve. 18. Catching ZZZ (1998) In spirit of Jedi Master Joe Satriani. I listen to a lot of his stuff too. Thanks to all friends and family. Dual Legacy for making this possible. And thanks to you, the listener, enjoy. The Fear of Not Knowing Is The Biggest Fear of All.
