I wrote these songs about things I want to understand, though I am often too young to fully grasp that understanding. Love, God, and purpose are abstract concepts to me, and I hope that my ideas about them are thoughtful. Above all, though, I wanted to make music for music's sake; if my songs don't get stuck in your head, I haven't done my job. Catchiness and musical clarity should and will always come first with my music, because I don't just want to write poetry. Music deserves more - is more beautiful - than that.
