简介

The "Melomani Jazz Group" was the first to be formed in Poland after World War II, opening up the entire spectrum of Anglo-American jazz, from classical swing to jazz improvisation and bebop. They were real pioner and a sensation in a country that belonged to the former Soviet Union in this time. The "Melomani Group's" repertoire focused on the jazz compositions of Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Gene Krupa and many others. They were interpreted it in a modern, progressive Western style and performed it in the concert halls all over Eastern Europe. This new album shows the full range of the "Melomani Jazz Group" in recordings from the years 1952 to 1958, which were remastered in 24-bit HD. The quality of the tracks is different, especially since the earliest tracks were still recorded with semi-professional Equpiment. But one thing is common to all titles. In every chord there is a passion for jazz, especially "free-jazz" - a symbol of freedom, perhaps the only freedom that existed in the former Soviet Union at that time. That's why the "Melomani Jazz Group" must have a place of honor in our "All that Jazz" collection.
