David turned 28 in November of 2006, and his new family (married and had a baby girl since the last album) and domestic responsibilities dominate the themes on OBSESSED. Songs like "Get behind me" and "McKinley Gail" are clearcut salutes to the family, while others like "I'm in the future today" and "I'm not afraid" suggest this guy is really going for more than just the Memphis club circuit. A stunning record which is clearly his best yet, and contains maybe the best songs he's written yet, the title track "Obsessed"- *****
