简介
'57 Stars' was written in 2009, partly in Parisian parks and on street corners, partly on beaches in Dorset, about events beginning a year earlier. It unleashes the emotions of finding and losing a first love in rapid succession. Despite being a recent recording of Henson's older work, the sentiment of the moment carries through. Getting caught in 'The Whirlwind', leaving love behind, longing to be reunited and finally the tragedy of the triangle that split up not just the lovers, but also the brothers as well. The anger and confusion, the joy, the hope, the sadness of it all. The lasting feelings that can't be washed away. Four tracks were recorded from 2009-10 at Plastic Parrot Studios with friend, producer and long-time collaborator Adam Scholey ('She's Crying', 'Incredible', 'The Whirlwind', 'I Love You and I Miss You'), while the heartache was still raw and fresh. These were released internationally as the 'I Love You and I Miss You' extended-play single. Once this was out, Ant turned his focus back to his old friend 'the road' and toured for the next couple of years, writing another album-and-a-half and taking his heart with him in the process. Since 2012 he's been living in London (writing an additional album and a half in the process) and accumulating the infrastructure for a basic recording studio. In that time, while learning to use his gear to lay down his own music, Ant decided to revisit the unrecorded tracks from 2009 and put together '57 Stars' as it had always been intended, including the four tracks he made with Adam. This first piece of the puzzle now falling into place paves the way for recording the three albums written since 2010. Armed with engineering and producing experience, Ant intends to continue to produce his own music into the future, with further, more adventurous projects in the pipeline too... Thank-you for reading and I hope you enjoy '57 Stars'. Official bio: Having slept and busked on the streets of Paris, toured the UK and Western Europe, wandered across America, with three albums written and more in the pipeline, and with fans and friends across the globe from Indonesia to Morocco to Peru, Ant Henson is addicted to the travelling troubadour life. Whether it's jamming with the late Huw Lloyd-Langton (of Hawkwind fame) or warming up for headliners as varied as the The Blanks (Ted's band from Scrubs) and 'Scrumpy & Western' act The Wurzels, Ant's always been in it for the kicks. Alongside his signature 12-string strummed folk sound, Henson also contributes lashings of harmonica, percussion, lead guitar and vocals to other artists' tunes both in the studio and at festivals around the southern UK where he grew up (first Bournemouth/Poole, now London). Sometimes Ant may be accompanied by a saxophone and a cajon, at other times a flute and a cello, sometimes a harmonica and a djembe or two. Who shows up to join in the jam depends on whether he's playing in Nottingham or New England at the time. The joy comes in from keeping it fresh and having a great time. Inspired by everyone from Kerouac to Scatman John via Jacque Fresco and The Guess Who, Ant's wide range of influences in this world keep him moving and all contribute to his award-winning songwriting. Keep an ear out for this man in a town near you...
