This song was born, out of all things, from an episode of Star Trek The Next Generation. While watching an episode featuring an android wanting to be more human, my mind wandered to a Tin Man wanting a heart, and then wanting to love someone and not knowing how. The wall he builds all around him keeps emotion out, however, it also turns out to be his demise.
