简介
The shamanic journey is a meditative experience done to the rhythm of drums, rattles, and other percussive instruments. In this album, Steve Daniel adds his mastery of the didgeridoo to hand drums played by Gerry Starnes and Bill Woodburn. All tracks were each recorded in one take and were lightly mixed in order to keep the spontaneous feel of the rhythms. The first track offers a guided imagery to assist you into relaxation. The second is a guided imagery to invite you into to the journey experience. Tracks three and four provide the rhythm of the drum and drone of the didgeridoo to take you on your journey, with the call back designed to return you to ordinary reality. Tracks five and six provide the same foundation for the journey, though without the didgeridoo. The Lower World shamanic journey is an experience of going "into the earth," traditionally by way of a hole or crack in the earth and through a tunnel into non-ordinary reality or the Spirit World. There you may encounter animal or other guides, teachers, and allies that can offer healing and wisdom that you can apply to your ordinary living experience. Shamanic journeying is a fundamental shamanic practice as a way of connecting to Spirit. You may also find yourself journeying to the Upper or Middle Worlds, as well. Spirit will lead you where you need to go for insights and answers to your intention. The organic sound of the didgeridoo, however, does tend to favor journeys to the Lower World. This album has been considered among the best available for support of the journey experience.
