Groove Jet was formed in Washington DC from member of Blue Calamari after their singer left the band. They wanted to Groove to the Max, so they formed large jam bands often with 10 or more members. Double drums, heavy bass, percussion, keys, guitars, horn sections, singers, rappers...the more the merrier. The core group on the CD emerged and they started recording this album. Many of these tracks were layed in those large jam studio sessions and later mixed and mastered by legendary artist John Lee of Alley Cat Productions and the Director and bass player for the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars Big Band. This CD turned out nicely and offers a rare jamming, grooving, mix of great tunes in latin, funk, smooth, and Acid jazz styles.
