The new power trio features bass player Sara Washington behind the microphone, and her style — a mash-up of sleazy blues and infectious punk calls to mind such female rockers as Joan Jett and Chrissie Hynde. "The overall sound varies," points out drummer Derek Harvey. "We have some songs that are harder and in-your-face and other songs that are less serious. It just ebbs and flows. It's hard to describe a recurring theme ... We know that audiences sometimes prefer to have a genre label or a way to categorize music before they listen to it, but we believe that this music is open enough to be interpreted in many ways. It's more accessible (than our past projects), even though that can be a vague term or even a negative one. We're interested in letting people form their own opinions about what we do."
