We are a Young Nepali folk instrumental band from an ancient city of Nepal, Kirtipur. Understanding the values of traditional musical instruments, Sakchyam since 2008 is producing new Nepali folk melodies and also, reviving the old ones. As the meaning of its name, which is ‘able’, Sakchyam holds a strong message for youths to be ‘able’ in what they are doing. We are making an effort to preserve and promote traditional music and traditional musical instruments of Nepal. With the technical support from Nepali musicians like Shyam Nepali, Babu Raja Maharjan, SarojPariyar& others, we are keen to discover fresh Nepali folk melodies & rare traditional musical Instruments. Sakchyam is a youth voice of Nepal for ‘Dynamic Act’ on traditional Nepali culture & its values.
