Building upon what has been accomplished in the past while pushing boundaries to create something just slightly different than what is current. The objective being music that is considered original yet familiar. Ultimately, the end result is that of a fan simply creating the music that he wants to hear. Drawing upon many influences the likes of Lamb of God, Mastodon, Strapping Young Lad and Meshuggah, the resume is an exercise in both extremity and musicality with a strong emphasis on song structure and composition while maintaining a visceral and raw sound to the mix. Reviews of Davola: "Flesh eating metal from a psycho honkey" - Cristian Machado and Laz Pina of Ill Nino, Description of Dichotomy by Davola (Sep 01, 2011) “One listen to Davola's Between the Buried and Me-meets-Strapping Young Lad galloping horse-style aggression on their debut EP, 'Dichotomy' and you might be wondering why you've never seen them on any tours. It might be because they are a new band, but it's more likely because Davola is not a 'they,' but a 'he.' The 'he' is Aaron Cloutier. ” - Jay DiNitto, Noise Creep Online Magazine (Jan 26, 2010) "Horns up for the creation. I must admit. I have to listen to a new DAVOLA song like ten times once I get it.” - Lord Mallingus of Evolution Rock Radio, Personal E-mail “The Aaron's works always are rich in many musical subjects. In the compositions we will find features of death-metal, hard-core, math-core, groove-metal and nu-metal in style of NILE, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, SLIPKNOT, SEPULTURA. And even we will find folk-music traces. The Aaron's music always is very aggressive, rhythmical and dynamic as well as simultaneously is not devoid of the bit of melody, the darkness or even the nostalgia. In this music I adore the destructive wall of sound who gives strong kick connected with the melodious phrases or with the folk moods like in style of flamenco as well as in style of South American rhythms. However you should remember that these pauses are momentary in powerful gunfire of aggressive and heavy subjects. Album "Dichotomy" clearly shows that Aaron is decided in his way. In this music has not nor moment of hesitating, the every phrase is very good well-thought-out. And despite of this mixture of brutal sounds with melodious accents the whole is solid and coherent.” - Pawel Grabowski, Metal Center (Dec 07, 2009) “awesome tunes, what a voice.. i love it cheers Ricky!!!! Diementia” - Ricky of the Band Diemantia, Myspace comment (Dec 23, 2009) “Killer voice and guitar skills...” - Jimmy P., Reverbnation comment (Sep 05, 2011) “I dig your style, it's hard to find metal like that now days” - IGZORDIUM, Twitter comment (Jul 03, 2011) "Metal that gives you a cerebral hemorrhage. I'm not lying, it's THAT good!" - Angie 74, Blip.fm (Jan 23, 2010)
