This song can be classified as a dark and moody science fiction score. I have collected inspiration especially from Vangelis's Science Fiction composition for the film Blade Runner (1982) and Johann Johannsson's composition for movie Arrival (2016). Synthetic retro-futuristic robot voices have been recorded at home with an analog gadget called the “Vocal Transformer" (VT-3) and a dynamic SM58 microphone. These “polite” and cold fascistic orders of "robot" voices helps to reinforce the feeling of dystopia. Dystopia is according to Thomas More, a society or community that is undesirable or frightening. We are now in a period where technology has taken a big leap, and it is left to the imagination to figure out how it will develop further. This is something that has left traces in me and therefore I chose to compose a song dedicated to a retro futuristic society. The song consists of layers with low bass notes, the sound of drones, floating synths and war drums. I have recorded the majority of the drums myself in an industrial construction area with a Zoom Recorder and some help from a talented drummer named "Rune Horvei". We recorded the sound of various containers and metallic pieces found in the area to give the sonic content a more unique texture. War drums triggered from Kontakt Libraries was layered on top of these sounds to give it more edge and rhythm. Software synthesizers like Sylenth1, Alchemy, EXS24 and Massive has been utilised and the long sustained notes continue to evolve throughout the whole song.
